Understanding switches and control
ON/OFF Switch:
Used for switching the device on and off. Very lightly press the switch for about 5 seconds to switch on the device. You can switch off the device again by lightly pressing the power button for about 5 seconds. Do not press it too hard as that may damage the electronic switch which is operated by the button.
To activate the steam function: When the brush is switched on, flip the brush to a bristles-down position and press the steam function button. The steam function will be activated after a few seconds.
Do not try to block or clean the vaporiser outlets for any purpose. This will damage the vaporisation function and render it useless and void the warranty.
Temperature Selector:
You can select from three temperature settings - 130°C, 165°C, and 210°C depending on your hair type and texture. You can use the styler with or without the steam function. The steam function works independent of the heating function.
How to use the Steam Styler
- Connect the styler to a power supply.
- Press the on/off switch to set it working.
- Based on your hair type select the temperature setting:
o 130°C for fine hair
o 165°C for medium hair
o 200°C for thick and coarse hair
- Brush you hair at a gradual pace, neither too fast nor too slow.
- This product is made to work like a straightener while you brush your hair.
- A little bit of trial and error should help you determine the right temperature and the right speed of styling your hair with the steam styler.
Important instructions regarding the vaporiser function:
- The vaporiser function consists of an inbuilt tank/chamber and a dispenser mechanism. The tank can be filled using a pipette/dropper.
- The vaporiser function works smooth and fine when the bristles are facing upwards. This is the best way of using the steam function.
- The vaporiser works with water and any light water based products with consistency equivalent to water.
- Any high viscosity products like heavy oils, serums, chemical based products will block the vaporiser and render it permanently useless.
The vaporiser function is not covered under warranty if misused and mishandled. Misuse and mishandling may be defined as but not limited to:
- Loading hot liquids in the vaporiser tank.
- Loading heavy and harsh chemicals and chemical based products in the vaporiser tank.
- Loading heavy and high viscosity oils and serums in the vaporiser.
- Intentionally or unintentionally blocking the vaporiser outlets/nozzles.
- Intentionally or unintentionally inserting objects in the vaporiser outlets.
- Prolonged damage due to above.
This device is protected with a warranty against manufacturing and workmanship defects. The device shall be repaired by a qualified technician at your nearest Alan Truman service centre if found faulty and returned to you.
